The Business Development Consultant directly supports a Market Leader in identifying growth and business opportunities in a specific geographic market and developing business plans and strategies to increase healthy, long-term market share. They are responsible for metric and financial analysis to build long-range strategic plans and annual objectives with the Market Leader and are responsible for ongoing execution of strategies impacting business expansion, productivity, revenue growth, and expense management. They work across the home office to deliver solutions and optimize overall market operations.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the Monthly Performance Review process with the Market Leadership team to understand and discuss opportunities and recommend strategies to achieve objectives.
- Regularly leverage data and reporting from a variety of sources to identify the biggest opportunities for a Market. Provide consultation to the Market Leader executing root cause analysis, recommending strategies, and articulating trade-offs to facilitate prioritization.
- Lead projects directly and manage ongoing execution support with key home office functional areas (e.g., real estate, marketing, product) to deliver intended outcomes. Monitor benefit of strategies in relation to overall market objectives.
- Provide sales, revenue, and expense forecasts and develop targets to achieve a sustainable business model aligned to market outcomes. Account for competitive landscape and specific competitors when shaping plans and strategies.
- Facilitates annual and ongoing strategic and operational planning at the market level in concert with market leadership team. Negotiate resourcing and objectives across regions, markets, and divisions, documenting long range plans to drive accountability.
- Collaborate with and influence across our team, sharing best practices to drive continuous improvement. Present and influence at senior branch development levels. Partner across the organization broadly, including Human Capital, Firm Analytics, Finance, and Data & Insights organizations.
Skills/Requirements
What Experience You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced Degree Preferred
- 6-10 years of relevant work experience
- Obtain both the SIE and Series 7 top off license within 6 months of hire
- Excellent knowledge of the industry or firm and its business practices and processes
- Strong knowledge of a field structure and market operating system
- Proficiency in analytic and technical knowledge of business performance (metrics and financials), market trend analysis, and applicable tools
