What You’ll Do:
- Monitor, triage, investigate, and escalate DLP alerts from multiple systems (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Proofpoint, Zscaler).
- Analyze incidents for patterns of data misuse or exfiltration across email, endpoints, cloud, and web.
- Assist in rule development, tuning, and testing of DLP policies to reduce false positives and improve detection efficacy.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Insider Threat, SOC, and Legal teams to support investigations and ensure proper incident response and documentation.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the business’s data flows, classification schema, and sensitive data types (PII, PHI, PCI, MNPI, etc.).
- Support initiatives to expand data coverage, such as integrating OCR scanning, endpoint DLP, and SaaS application protection.
- Create and maintain documentation for alert handling processes, use cases, and playbooks.
- Provide metrics and trends related to data movement, insider risk patterns, and DLP program efficacy.
- Support risk and compliance assessments by providing data loss metrics and investigative insight.
- Participate in after-action reviews and support continuous improvement of the data protection program.

Skills/Requirements
- 2–4+ years of experience working in cybersecurity, information security, or a similar analyst role.
- Hands-on experience with DLP tools (Microsoft Purview, Proofpoint, Zscaler CASB, etc.).
- Familiarity with enterprise data types and sensitivity levels: PII, PHI, PCI, IP, financial data, insider risk indicators.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOX, NYDFS, CCPA, GDPR).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience writing investigative reports, communicating incident severity, and tracking issue resolution.
- Working knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and security tooling integrations.
What Could Set You Apart:
- Experience with Microsoft Purview DLP, Microsoft 365 Defender, or Sentinel.
- Familiarity with security automation platforms (e.g., XSOAR, Logic Apps, Splunk SOAR).
- Experience working in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Understanding of insider threat frameworks and behavioral analytics tools.
- CISSP, CISA, Security+, or equivalent certifications.
