Team Overview
The Sr Security Engineer is a senior technical engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced network security solutions, with a primary focus on Zscaler technologies and broader network security initiatives. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the firm’s network infrastructure is robust, secure, and optimized for performance and availability, while adhering to best practices and security standards.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, deploy, and manage the Zscaler platform, including Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
- Lead network security initiatives, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure remote access including segmentation policies through ZPA.
- Monitor, analyze, respond, and remediate security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct network assessments and recommend improvements to enhance security and performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network architecture, security policies, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to integrate security solutions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on network security best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, including connectivity, latency, and security concerns.
- Stay current with emerging network security technologies, threats, and vulnerability identification.

Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in network engineering and security, with at least 3 years working with Zscaler solutions.
- Expertise in configuring and managing Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
- Expertise with network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in network monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting tools.
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Zscaler Certified Professional, CISSP, CCNP Security).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
This role will require occasional after-hours support and participation in on-call rotations on a weekly basis.
Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
