As the Senior Investigative Specialist, you will be responsible for performing various activities to support Know Your Customer (KYC) function, including identifying high-risk client types, conducting due diligence reviews on potential high-risk clients, periodic reviews/updates to KYC records, and assisting with other business initiatives. You will make complex, non-routine decisions independently that may have high impact on clients and the firm. You will be engaged in a collaborative environment where your experience and contributions are valued. The key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Conduct research and provide advice on new customer Client Due Diligence (CDD) alerts and Know Your Customer (KYC) files
- Perform Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews of high-risk customers. Use customer risk scoring models in accordance with departmental processes and procedures
- Conduct EDD on new and existing customers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Suggest process improvements and/or research tools to increase efficiency and/or accuracy
- Strong documentation skills needed for EDD findings in appropriate database, including all pertinent facts and information to support conclusion
- Advises business partners on the onboarding of new customers
- Review, resolve and/or escalate adverse media and potential PEP match alerts
- Consistently maintain awareness of regulatory updates and incorporate process and procedural changes as directed by team leader and department management
- Determine, write, and submit Suspicious Activity Reports for submission to FinCEN in a clear, concise manner describing suspicious activity or financial crime.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance or Accounting preferred) or relevant work experience required
- 4+ years of brokerage or financial industry or related experience, with a focus of 2+ years of KYC (Know Your Client), or financial crimes risk in BSA/AML with exposure to EDD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in reviews, investigation, and resolution of related issues
- CAMS, CFE, CPA, or other related industry certification/license preferred
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
Current Internal home-based associates please note: Even as a campus-based posted role you are eligible to apply and, if selected, you may retain your home-based status. However future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work and some roles may carry a preference for campus-based presence.
