The Technology Business Management team is evolving to provide deeper insights into how technology services are delivered, consumed, and valued across the organization. We are looking for an associate with strong knowledge of application architecture, system integrations, SaaS platforms, data management, and software development lifecycle practices who can help bridge the gap between how technology operates and how it is measured, costed, and reported.
The successful candidate will help manage and evolve our technology cost and consumption capabilities by developing cost models, enhancing showback reporting, administering the Apptio platform, and providing insights into the technology and business drivers behind our technology investments. This role will also help build critical technical and institutional knowledge within the firm, improving our ability to connect technology consumption, cost, and business value. Ideal candidates enjoy working across technology, data, architecture, operations, and financial management and are passionate about helping the organization better understand and demonstrate the value delivered through technology.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of our technology environment, including infrastructure, applications, data, integrations, and technology operations across Shared Technology Services (STS) and Digital Product Management (DPM). While prior TBM experience is not required, TBM principles and practices can be learned in this role. Our primary focus is finding someone with the technical knowledge to understand how technology works end-to-end and help connect technology consumption and costs to business value.
What You Will Do:
- Administer and optimize the Apptio TBM platform, including configuration, data management, reporting, integrations, and end-user support.
- Apply Technology Business Management (TBM) principles to develop and maintain technology cost, allocation, service mapping, and consumption models.
- Design, support, and enhance technology cost transparency across infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data, and application portfolios.
- Develop and maintain integrations between financial, operational, technology, and reporting systems to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Perform data administration and analysis activities, including validation, reconciliation, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
- Partner with cross-functional technology teams to understand service consumption patterns and improve reporting and decision-making capabilities.
- Create and maintain showback, chargeback, and TBM reporting solutions that provide actionable insights into technology investments and service usage.
- Document technical processes and system architectures while driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across STS, DPM, Finance, Human Capital, and other technology areas.
Current Internal home-based associates please note: Even as a campus-based posted role you are eligible to apply and, if selected, you may retain your home-based status. However, future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work and some roles may carry a preference for campus-based presence.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, or technology systems in a corporate environment.
- 4+ years of experience working with system integrations, APIs, data flows, and enterprise technology ecosystems.
- Experience with data management, data modeling, database concepts, and data governance practices.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), release management processes, and application support methodologies.
- Knowledge of application architecture and the ability to analyze end-to-end technology processes across multiple platforms and domains.
- Ability to analyze technical, operational, and financial data to identify trends, drive insights, and support business decision-making.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data, or application environments.
- Experience with Oracle, Apptio, ServiceNow, Power BI, Tableau, or similar technology and reporting platforms.
- Experience partnering with technology engineering teams, architecture teams, finance organizations, or workforce planning functions.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern application architectures.
What Could Set You Apart:
- Experience working across both infrastructure and application domains, enabling a holistic understanding of how technology services are delivered end-to-end.
- Familiarity with technology cost management, showbacks, chargebacks, or Technology Business Management (TBM) concepts.
- Passion for learning new technologies and understanding the technical drivers behind applications, platforms, infrastructure, and service delivery.
- Proven ability to partner with engineers, architects, and technology leaders to translate technical complexity into actionable business and financial insights.
