The Senior Lead, Firm Strategy leads a team or acts as a matrix leader responsible for development and monitoring of the Firm’s Enterprise Strategy. This role supports the formulation of enterprise, business, functional strategy, or inorganic growth across various time horizons, leads strategic firm efforts, support the development and execution of the annual strategic planning process, partners with teams across Firm Strategy, Business Segments, and Functions leads and manage makes decisions within firm strategy workstreams, monitors and escalates emerging issues and trends to Firm Strategy leadership for discussion and strategic influencing.
What you’ll do:
- Shape and facilitate development of the firm’s enterprise strategy with the Enterprise Leadership Team; and engage & influence senior stakeholders of the firm in the development of and activation of enterprise, business, and functional strategies
- Lead cross-functional teams in helping frame, design and execute strategic solutions, including the development of hypotheses, gathering data, analyzing results, optimizing decision materials for clarity, rigor, and alignment across leadership groups and presenting findings to executive audiences
- Oversee a team of strategists responsible for driving multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring timely completion of deliverables
- Lead the synthesis and distribution of industry, customer, and competitive information for internal firm stakeholders
- Lead the formulation of enterprise, business, and functional strategies across multiple time horizons, integrating findings from internal research, external developments, and leadership’s priorities.
- Leads advanced analysis and recommendations using both qualitative (e.g., xyz) and quantitative (e.g., financial modeling, analysis) methods, engaging relevant subject matter experts inside and outside the firm where appropriate, to generate insights and recommendations that advance strategic thinking of the enterprise over multiple time horizons
- Facilitate alignment sessions, working sessions, and workshops with key stakeholders and senior executives, incorporating novel/outside-the-box engagement tactics and methods, resulting in aligned decisions/recommendations and high participant engagement
- Designs scenarios, analysis, modeling and structured trade-offs that connect strategy to operating model and risk impacts
- Design and facilitate leadership programs and learning experiences for firm stakeholders to develop strategic & industry acumen across the firm
- Executes ongoing monitoring of strategic progress and recommends course corrections
Current Internal home-based associates please note: Even as a campus-based posted role you are eligible to apply and, if selected, you may retain your home-based status. However future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work and some roles may carry a preference for campus-based presence.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Advanced skills and ability to learn innovation management, systems thinking, planning and organizing, relationship building, collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving.
- Strong analytical, strategy development and strategy into execution skills to drive the continued evolution of a functional capability
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to provide concise, relevant market commentary, and explain complex concepts directly to key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial openness and ability to explore new possibilities and different approaches to issues.
- Industry knowledge required (relevant trends driving the financial services industry and adjacent industries, understanding of key competitors, etc.)
- Firm knowledge preferred (understanding of firm decision-making processes; relationships with strategy decision-makers including ELT, OC, and business segment leaders)
- Strategy knowledge required (best practice frameworks)
- Team Leadership and capability building

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ, St. Louis, MO home office locations, and/or that work within a Talent Capability and Generations Hub are expected to work in the office four days per week.
Any changes in strategic direction will be determined by the General Partner responsible for the business segment.
