Connect with others to advance your career
Roger Ramchatesingh shares his thoughts about using networking and mentorship for professional growth.
Business Resource Groups (BRGs)
Find your place of belonging in one our BRGs including the Black/African American, LGBT+ & Allies, and Young Professionals BRGs. BRGs are comprised of home office associates and leaders who meet regularly to cultivate home office relationships, generate ideas, and develop strategies to build and retain an inclusive workforce. In the true spirit of inclusion, anyone can join any BRG. Check them out —all of them are ready to welcome you.
Let’s Do Lunch Series
Meet new people, learn about different groups and divisions, and get the inside scoop on open and upcoming roles in the home office. Let’s Do Lunch is a cross-collaborative effort between all BRGs, Inclusion & Diversity and the firm’s Talent Acquisition team. The series brings in diverse speakers throughout Edward Jones to discuss the firm’s strategic functions and objectives – a great opportunity to learn about current open positions and desired competencies.
Communities of Practice
Communities of Practice can help you connect with associates who share common interests and development goals.
Grassroots CoPs are forming around the firm including:
- Design Thinking Co-creators
- Group Process Facilitators
- Insights Guild
If you’re interested in finding, joining, or creating a Community of Practice around a certain specialty or field, ask around and find like-minded people. Help each other share and build new knowledge and skills.
Mentoring Program
Mentoring is two-way development. Mentors are able to deepen their understanding of a topic while helping mentees achieve specific development goals. Also, mentees learn from someone with more experience while building their professional network. Our formal mentoring program is a great way to get started. But if you want less formal mentoring, a relationship can be formed more “organically” with someone who can provide insights, ask you questions, and help you create or see new career opportunities within the firm.
