Branch Compensation is responsible for the timely & accurate payment of all elements of Financial Advisor Compensation including Commissions, New FA Compensation, Trimester Bonus, Travel Award Program, etc. This position will work in collaboration with the Branch Compensation Department Leader to ensure team responsibilities, both recurring and ad hoc, are completed timely and accurately. This includes general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, process improvements, process control enhancements, Financial Advisor escalations, Financial Advisor policy enhancements, compensation education and communication. Branch Compensation is a fast paced, highly complex environment with each associate responsible for many key processes throughout the month. Therefore, understanding upstream and downstream impacts of Financial Advisor Compensation, the ability to plan, organize and prioritize, think strategically, assist others and solve problems from routine to coamplex are crucial to the role.
What You’ll Do:
- Administer commission, bonus, and other incentive compensation programs ensuring complete, accurate, and timely calculations for 19,000+ Financial Advisors across US and Canada.
- Execute internal controls required for accurate calculation and payment of incentive compensation.
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies while being able to meet monthly close schedules. This includes driving results for simple to moderately complex enhancements.
- Build and maintain process documentation for incentive compensation programs within circle of responsibility. Train others in the department on how to administer incentive compensation programs within circle of responsibility.
- Provide excellent and prompt customer service to financial advisors. Resolve simple to moderately complex inquiries in respects to incentive compensation
- Prepare and reconcile incentive compensation reports on a monthly basis from multiple different sources and systems. Investigate and resolve differences.
- Work closely with team, other departments (cross divisional), and assist others in accomplishing tasks to meet deadlines. Lead individual initiatives or processes within areas of responsibility but may require input from others.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
What Could Set You Apart:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience in financial service industry
- Experience administering incentive compensation programs
- Process improvement experience
- Prior experience with Power BI or related tools
Please note: Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our St. Louis, MO or Tempe, AZ home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.
