Edward Jones is seeking a dedicated and motivated Solutions Engineer to help lead our Client Document Experience Product with technical solutions for our firm initiatives. We are embarking on a transformational journey across the entire document lifecycle to reimagine how our clients, branches, and colleagues interact with documents and document processing at Edward Jones.What you’ll Do:
Solution Engineers (SEs) are advanced, technical experts with 10 years of experience in leading design, architecture, and development of systems with significant scope and scale, requiring deep solution knowledge and confidence within the engineering space.SEs will be responsible for defining the technology roadmap for the Client Document Experience Product and working with Technology and Product Leadership to align the business and technology vision seeking synergies in delivering both.
As a Solution Engineer (SE) you will work in and across multiple teams, helping your colleagues overcome the most difficult engineering challenges. You will guide and mentor agile teams and Tech Leads on architecture, design, development, and integration of business software across multiple product platforms while making sure all application development is aligned to the latest engineering excellence principles. Participating in regular change review meetings to help ensure quality implementations will also be required.While there will be time with hands on keys, SEs will also spend time interacting with Product Leadership to understand desired functionality and directing the conversion of those business needs into actionable stories. SEs will engage with the larger Technology Architecture groups by participating in regular Architecture Working Group meetings. You will mentor senior engineers, teaching them skills that will in turn help them mentor others more effectively.

Skills/Requirements
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in a variety of technical fields with a focus on software engineering is required. Your experience should provide a deep understanding of the full stack required to deliver and operate software.
- Positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented attitude along with great communication skills is required.
- Ability to multi-task and participate in multiple large and complex efforts or projects.
- A deep understanding of operating critical & enterprise hardened production systems. A deep understanding of observability to reduce toil and improve MTTR during incidents.
- Strong expertise in Java is required.
- Fluent in multiple programming languages and development stacks. Knowledgeable of multiple systems to design more resilient and maintainable solutions.
- Expert in test automation with demonstrated mastery of code level unit and integration tests.
- This role will model the values of being a lifelong learner by continuing to learn new things and share those with your team.
- Expert in design patterns and scalable Microservices.
- Experience in designing and building highly scalable, distributed & secure solutions that run in a cloud environment is preferred.
- Experienced in both relational and non-relational data stores.
- Deep understanding of document processing at a large firm is a plus.
