As a Software Engineer on the Proposal Activations and Documents team, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and evolving a high-impact platform that empowers financial advisors to deliver personalized, investment strategies with speed, clarity, and confidence.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and intuitive digital tools that streamline proposals and onboarding workflows.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers to deliver seamless advisor experiences that integrate retirement, brokerage, education, and other account types into a unified proposal.
- Leverage modern technologies and cloud-native architectures to build resilient, high-performance services that support Edward Jones’ growing SMA/UMA and fee-based planning initiatives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field or related work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development. Understands infrastructure architecture – networks, productivity tools, operating systems – and provides input to leaders about the impact of these components
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues and their implications for projects and business decisions, facilitate discussion and resolution of problems, and mentor other Information Systems (IS) associates
- Expert level in at least one of the following:
- Web Application Development
- Client Application Development
- Mainframe Online and/or Batch Development
- Enterprise or solution specific purchased software
Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
**Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**
