Our Web Platform team is responsible for the day-to-day operation of Linux based enterprise platforms, ensuring stability, availability, and security for critical business applications. We work closely with application, network, and security teams to keep systems running reliably while actively modernizing toward containerized and Kubernetes based platforms.
The Systems Administrator role is a hands-on operational position focused on supporting Linux systems, middleware, and containerized environments across production and non-production tiers. This role is well suited for professionals early in their systems administration journey who want to operate real platforms, strengthen troubleshooting skills, and grow into more advanced Linux and Kubernetes responsibilities over time.
You’ll gain practical experience administering Linux/Unix systems, supporting enterprise middleware such as WebLogic, working with virtualization platforms, and increasingly contributing to containerized and Kubernetes based environments as part of ongoing modernization efforts
In this role, you’ll support production and non‑production environments while developing practical, real‑world systems administration skills.
- Assist in maintaining enterprise systems and platforms to ensure performance, reliability, and uptime
- Monitor system health, capacity, and alerts using enterprise monitoring tools; escalate issues as needed
- Support day‑to‑day WebLogic administration including application deployments, log monitoring, basic JVM troubleshooting, patching support, and incident troubleshooting using documented procedures
- Support operating system patching, security updates, and scheduled maintenance following documented procedures
- Participate in incident response during business hours and as part of a on‑call rotation
- Troubleshoot common system and application issues using runbooks and guidance from senior team members
- Support middleware and platform technologies with an initial focus on enterprise platforms such as WebLogic and exposure to containerized and Kubernetes‑based environments as part of ongoing modernization efforts
- Learn and assist with automation and configuration management using scripting tools
- Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to resolve operational issues
- Document system configurations, procedures, and incident findings
- Participate in change management, maintenance windows, and operational reviews
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, accept feedback, and take on greater responsibility over time
Skills/Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 0–2 years of experience in systems administration, IT operations, or a related technical role
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems (users, services, filesystems, logs)
- Familiarity with virtualization concepts and platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V)
- Introductory understanding of middleware platforms such as WebLogic, Apache, or Tomcat
- Basic scripting experience or coursework (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to participate in a rotating on‑call schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, or observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus)
- Familiarity or coursework with Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience supporting enterprise or multi‑environment (dev, test, prod) systems
- Experience working within formal change management processes
