Edward Jones Trust Company provides a full range of trust, investment management, and custody services to individuals, businesses, charitable organizations, and private foundations. The Associate Trust Advisor supports the Client Service Team in the onboarding and ongoing relationship, trust and investment management of all Trust Company account types.
What You Will Do:
Initially, the role will focus on the onboarding of new EJTC accounts. The individual will work closely with Trust Consultants, Trust Officers, Portfolio Managers, Special Assets teams, vendors, clients and Edward Jones branch teams. The Associate Trust Advisor will support the goals of the firm by providing excellent service to our clients and branches while maintaining fiduciary and regulatory standards. This position is critical to enhancing the client experience for trust clients.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Leading the relationship management for the administration and / or onboarding of less complex accounts
- Schedule and coordinate discovery consultations with branch teams, clients and Trust Consultants
- Reviewing trust agreements, wills, powers of attorney and other legal documents for the establishment and / or ongoing support of the trust and investment management of trust accounts
- Developing, supporting, and strengthening client and branch team relationships
- Serving as key contact in communicating with clients, branch teams, external professionals, internal teams, and vendors
- Tracking and managing upcoming meetings, ensuring timely follow-ups and preparedness
- Support the Client Service Team on the management of client requests (including but not limited to payment of bills, discretionary distribution requests, address changes, transfers, etc.)
- Supporting the team in trust onboarding, ongoing administration, and investment matters to ensure the Trust Company fulfills its fiduciary duties while mitigating financial, reputational and legal risk
- Consulting with Fiduciary Officers to ensure proper risk and legal issues have been identified and evaluated
- Working in partnership with Trust Operations, other areas, and outside professionals as needed
- Developing subject matter expertise and maintaining knowledge required for administering accounts managed by the Trust Company
- Supporting the team in growing the business
- Serving as a resource for other associates throughout the department
- Assisting in the training of new associates
- Leading or participating on a project or process as needed by the area
Current Internal home-based associates please note: Even as a campus-based posted role you are eligible to apply and, if selected, you may retain your home-based status. However future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work and some roles may carry a preference for campus-based presence.
Skills/Requirements
- High school degree required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- 3 years of trust or related professional experience required.
- Previous financial services experience preferred
- Demonstration of increased knowledge of estate planning concepts, trust tax fundamentals and probate and trust processes
- Ability to work with varying priorities, establish priorities, work independently and/or take direction from multiple parties;
- Moderate to advanced Excel skills
- Ability to communicate regarding trust services and processes with established guidelines
What Could Set You Apart:
- Progress toward JD, CTFA, CFP, CPA or other relevant professional certification strongly preferred
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
