Key responsibilities include:
- Drive the development and enhancement of the firm’s strategic and tactical asset allocation frameworks, helping shape portfolio positioning across model portfolios and other firm investment programs.
- Lead the ongoing development and refinement of the firm’s capital market assumptions, supporting asset allocation decisions across multiple investment programs and business segments.
- Strengthen the firm’s tactical asset allocation process through enhanced modeling techniques, decision frameworks, and investment decision-making capabilities.
- Advance the firm’s factor investing capabilities by evaluating risk premia, systematic sources of return, and factor exposures, integrating these insights into capital market assumptions, asset allocation decisions, portfolio construction frameworks, and investment strategy.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging asset classes, investment strategies, and sources of return that align with the firm’s strategic direction and enhance the asset allocation opportunity set.
- Develop and communicate asset allocation recommendations, portfolio strategy views, and supporting rationale to equip Financial Advisors and internal stakeholders with actionable guidance.
- Serve as a visible contributor to internal communications and forums, articulating market perspectives, asset allocation decisions, investment recommendations, and portfolio strategy with clarity and credibility.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure asset allocation decisions, portfolio positioning recommendations, and investment strategy are effectively incorporated into investment platforms, tools, and client solutions.
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or CFA designation (or progress toward completion) required.
- 10+ years of experience in asset allocation, multi-asset investing, investment strategy, or quantitative investing, ideally in a portfolio management capacity.
- Deep understanding of capital markets, asset allocation methodologies, factor investing, portfolio theory, and the macroeconomic drivers of asset class returns.
- Demonstrated experience developing or enhancing an investment philosophy and process, capital market assumptions, asset allocation models, and investment decision frameworks.
- Extensive quantitative modeling experience, including statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, scenario analysis, probability-weighted decision frameworks, asset allocation model development, and portfolio optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with the responsible use of AI and advanced analytics tools to enhance investment research, improve efficiency, and strengthen investment decision-making preferred.
- Series 7 and Series 66 licenses required, or the ability to obtain within six months of hire.
