| Team Overview: Overlay Management serves advisors and clients by efficiently and expertly addressing their tax, risk, and customization needs through the coordinated management of investments across sleeves, accounts, and households. Applying seasoned judgment to orchestrate tailored outcomes from a complex web of client and model provider inputs, helps clients achieve goals and financial wellness, drives advisor efficiency, and makes a client and advisor’s relationship with Edward Jones irreplaceable. |
What You Will Do:
- Responsible for applying business and technical knowledge to ensure availability of systems used in the implementation of pilot overlay services, and to provide quality solutions for Overlay Management needs
- Independently complete high-level and technical systems design for new and enhanced systems
- Develop business and technical requirements for enhancements, projects, and new systems
- Design (including system specifications), develop, test, document, and implement quality application software within targeted due dates
- Provide and validate program / task / system estimates
- Proactively identify implications of a project – articulate urgency, dependencies and trade-offs over multiple systems
- Develop relationships with stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to modify software to avoid future problems and promote continuous improvement
- Develop and execute complex system test plans to ensure quality
- Create documentation across many systems and functional areas, describes touch points and impacts at a total system level
- May involve periodic review and confirmation of general support documentation
- Internally, this position will be known as Engineer III.
Skills/Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, related field or related work experience
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- 2+ years experience with multi-factor risk models i.e. Aladdin, MSCI, Axioma, etc.
- 2+ years experience with portfolio optimization platforms i.e. Axioma, MSCI, Aladdin, etc.
- Expert level in at least one of the following environments; gaining understanding in other environments. Environments may include the following, plus the ability to interface with one or more database platforms:
- Web Application Development
- Client Application Development
- Mainframe Online and/or Batch Development
- Optimization and factor risk models
What Could Set You Apart:
- Strong knowledge of various types of investments, asset classes, and capital markets
- Strong understanding of and ability to manage multi-asset portfolio investment risk and/or optimization platform on a day-to-day basis.
- Strong knowledge of portfolio construction, portfolio optimization, and/or portfolio risk management.
Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ, St. Louis, MO home office locations, and/or that work within a Talent Capability and Generations Hub are expected to work in the office four days per week.
Any changes in strategic direction will be determined by the General Partner responsible for the business segment.
